Scaling
Tool Scaling:
Some Larger deposits of calculus/tarter may be gently removed with a special instrument, but this is just the first step.
Ultrasonic Scaling:
An ultrasonic scaler is then used to further remove plaque and calculus from the surfaces of the teeth.
In addition to removal of visible calculus on the teeth removal of deposits below the gum line and root planing are also very important parts of the dental procedure.
